Jay's Third Season 5 Mock Draft

03/26/2020

Each day, our intel gets better, teams switch places, our prospects get chattier, and new faces appear. Because of this, the draft always is looking different. Thanks to an OOTC provided draft order, it is a lot easier to get an accurate reading on how the draft is laid out! Let's see the contestants!

Also, any pick trades done while writing this article are not included. Thanks.

First Round

#1 - Pittsburgh Pirates

P Alex Curvingsonworth

If this doesn't happen then it will be because Alex revealed herself to be a murderer or a Cubs fan.

#2 - Toronto Blue Jays

LF/1B Doc Crudelly

Cali backed up this pick in their mock draft, and you know what? I think Doc is so perfect for the Blue Jays. This may not be a 100% confirmed pick, but I will ride with this one to hell.

#3 - Seattle Mariners

CF/RF Guido Ligiorno

I just don't see Cali Guerensk slotting into the Seattle roster, no matter how valuable they are in this pick. There are so many great prospects in this draft that the Mariners have plenty of options that may fill shallower spots. If there are any shallow spots on Seattle, it is in second base and the outfield, and since there are no #3-worthy second basemen in the draft, I chose the most valuable outfielder so far.

#4 - Montreal Expos

CF/LF Zachary Hommes

Zachary Hommes is another fantastic outfielder that has exploded onto the scene. I had the Expos picking Hommes at a later place in the draft in a previous mock draft, but since his profile has vastly grown, the Expos would probably need to get a #4 pick to nab him. And lucky enough, that's what they did!

#5 - Colorado Rockies

P dick richards

I had the Rockies picking a pitcher in my most recent mock, and well, what's a better match for Colorado than dicks? If richards falls to the Rockies, which is seeming more apparent from some of my colleagues' drafts, I don't see Colorado passing up the opportunity.

#6 - Houston Colt .45s

3B/SS Cali Guerensk

I cannot entirely justify a Semenhands #6 pick when he has largely been ignored in draft predictions around the league. Houston needs a good season here, and good seasons are built on active clubhouses; I think no matter what, they will find room for Cali to snatch up their activity.

#7 - Milwaukee Brewers

3B/LF Gang Weed

The Brewers have zero left fielders in their organization. Getting their hands on one is pertinent, and Gang Weed has been an active presence, so this would be a great pick for Milwaukee. The dude has sick emotes, too.

#8 - New York Mets

SS/3B Tommy Tightpants

I have heard from sources that there is fondness of Tightpants from the Mets camp. The player has been in their clubhouse and active, apparently, and Mets executives seemed to approve of a mock where they took the shortstop. This is probably a guarantee.

#9 - New York Yankees

CF/RF Nicholas Fouss

Fouss is the best centerfielder left in this mock, arguably, and the Yankees definitely need a centerfielder in their ranks. Fouss has the makeup to be a top-ten pick, something I've been coming to terms with as the mocks have continued, so I think they'd pick him at this point.

#10 - Texas Rangers

P Brusdar Gatorade

Brusdar has risen quickly to be one of the most active young pitchers in the league, on the mound and on Discord. The Rangers definitely could use pitching help, as they have throughout their history, so a pitcher is probably their best hope at this point in the draft.

#11 - St. Louis Cardinals

P Bud Tuggli

I've stated in each of these mocks that the Cardinals are another team that should shoot for a pitcher. Tuggli is one of a few rare players that have stuck through the league from the very beginning to now, so the Cardinals wouldn't have to worry about activity here.

#12 - Atlanta Braves

3B/LF Hannibal Bligh

The Braves have no left fielders, so that should be the first position they address. Bligh is the best left fielder left, in my opinion, so this would be a good pick for them.

#13 - Los Angeles Angels

P Alexander Hamilton II

As the number of viable pitchers has grown in the draft, top tier prospects have fallen a bit. Hamilton is one of those. I've been highlighting the Angels' need for a pitcher in all my mocks, so they have to draft one here. Hamilton would be a great display of activity for them.

#14 - Oakland Athletics

1B/3B/C Dart Ragusa

Still going with this. Still have the same reasons. I actually forget my original reasons. But I am still going with this.

#15 - Cincinnati Reds

3B/LF Elmo Seabreeze

I've been assured this guy is the shit, and the Reds' most shallow asset is probably left field. Plus, Elmo is red so it works out pretty well for the memes.

#16 - Detroit Tigers

P Brian Taylor

Brian Taylor has been a steadily rising prospect that has caught the eye of a few astute mockers. He pitched five innings in college baseball to all right results, and his activity has steadily risen on the Discord side of things. As will his draft stock through the week, likely. The Tigers only have two pitchers and a pretty stacked roster elsewhere, so I think they will go for a third in their rotation.

#17 - Minnesota Twins

P Cy Hadd Jr.

The Twins are coming into the draft with only one pitcher, so they will likely be scouring for one with their seventeenth pick. They could take a flier on Cy Hadd Jr., who has been well active as of late and has a history of activity. Plus he is really handsome and that will do well for their team photo.

#18 - Chicago White Sox

RF/CF Monica Clinton

The White Sox GM has admitted to not entirely knowing who she'll decide on when the time comes, so allow me to pose a recommendation. Clinton has been fairly active in the Discord, and fills the team's biggest gap at center field. She is a great prospect that might fall here in a field of great prospects.

#19 - Miami Marlins

CF/LF Haloick Oasis

The Marlins will probably be searching for another centerfielder, looking at their roster, and lucky for them there are so many good ones in the draft that could fall to them. Oasis didn't bat in college baseball, but did sign-up and get onto a team. They have spoken recently on Discord, so they are here and ready to play; enough for someone like Miami to take a first-round chance.

#20 - Cincinnati Reds

P Thomas Nova

With the Reds' second pick of the first round, I could see them looking for a pitcher. Nova is a player that has been around for a while and consistently active, so I don't think he will slip through the first round. The Reds could enjoy him on the activity alone.

#21 - Boston Red Sox

2B/RF Dermot Mulveiny

Mulveiny has sneakily been one of the up-and-coming prospects of the draft, and one of the best available second basemen. He probably deserves to go higher, but given how most have slept on him, the Red Sox could pull a masterstroke and nab him to boost second base depth.

#22 - Cleveland Indians

1B/3B Drax Frost

This was my pick last time, and you know I think I am gonna keep it despite all this shuffling around. The Indians could use a first baseman, and Frost has shown himself both a Discord and a Nitro user, which spells an overlooked promise of longevity in the clubhouse.

#23 - Colorado Rockies

RF/1B Late Train Dave Vein

One of the better hitters in fake college baseball, Vein has an existent but not-very-fruitful Discord history. That could definitely change after the draft, especially in the clubhouse, so the Rockies could do well to pick someone who has shown themselves so great at hitting.

#24 - Baltimore Orioles

SS/2B Joey Semenhands

Semenhands has built his Discord history on playing Pokemon, and what a massive Discord history it is. We don't know how well of a clubhouse presence he will be, but Semenhands has shown that he has some staying power, and can fill the Orioles's gaps in the middle of their infield.

#25 - Tampa Bay Rays

SS/2B Patty Ice

Patty Ice is another late-first round talent that has risen due to a recent Discord activity. Ice has plenty of college baseball at-bats and offers a less-than-represented position, so they could rise up through the ranks depending on whether or not this trend continues. For now, the Rays could have a good pick here.

#26 - San Francisco Giants

P Tabasco Greensauce

Greensauce is another valuable pitcher that has fallen due to a rise in excitement regarding the draft. Regardless, he is still very active. The Giants may look to fill that gap long left open by their former closer Konrad, and Greensauce would be an excellent pick this late.

#27 - Seattle Mariners

2B/1B All Starlin

At Seattle's second pick of the round, I feel they will be looking for a diamond in the rough of uncertain second base prospects. Starlin looks like a gem at this point in the draft, as he has a Discord and college baseball activity.

#28 - Tampa Bay Rays

P Etsuko Rune

Etsuko is a newcomer to the MLR but a veteran of other fake baseball type games. They could be a sleeper pick as a pitcher this late in the first round, where I predict they will stay.

#29 - Kansas City Royals

C/3B Zack Markel

Zack Markel is a player that is hurt by their common player types, but it does not mean they aren't active in the Discord. The Royals are a team founded on Zacks, or one Zack I guess, so they could use more Zack power. I don't know, it's that late in the mock that I start just saying shit.

#30 - Los Angeles Dodgers

P Hunter Scott

The most successful pitcher in college baseball might just make his way down to the Paper Cup champions. I believe his lack of Discord will truly hurt him in the draft, though he may still be a fantastic talent that the Dodgers could nab up.

#31 - Atlanta Braves

CF/LF Leroy Hawk

The Braves are probably going to put heavy focus on batters, as their rotation is the only thing on their roster that seems filled out. Hawk would be a good outfield option this late in the first round, as he has recently been chatting a lot on the Discord.

#32 - Arizona Diamondbacks

C/1B Pork Torkleton

The Diamondbacks are in need of a catcher. There are a few to pick from this low in the first round, but Pork is arguably the best option. He has an okay Discord activity, and also has great college stats!

#33 - Atlanta Braves

LF/RF Kirby Birch

A Pokemon addict like Semenhands, Birch would fill out an outfield retool for Atlanta nicely. If they talk more on the Discord their stocks may rise, but they took 7 PAs in college baseball which is a solid sample size of plate activity.

#34 - Los Angeles Angels

P Tristan Leung

I predicted Leung for the Angels much earlier in a previous draft, so if Leung falls here, the Angels should take him to fill out their rotation more. This will give them 3 pretty decent and active pitchers, as Leung has pitched over 11 innings in college.

#35 - Miami Marlins

P Mike Hawk

Hawk is another one of those veteran players that decided to enter the draft as a pitcher. Previously of the Milwaukee Brewers, I think he could be a reliable grab for the Marlins this late in the first round as a nice late-rotation arm.

#36 - Cleveland Indians

1B/LF Adrian Young

Young provides additional first base depth for the Indians, while also filling in much needed left field depth. Young has recently shown up on the Discord, so he could rise and maybe be nabbed in the Indians first pick, depending on how well he sticks around. The college numbers aren't fantastic, but when has that really hurt anyone in these mocks?

Second Round:

#37 - Toronto Blue Jays - SS/CF Hamish Smashithard

#38 - Milwaukee Brewers - P Che Or

#39 - Houston Colt .45s - 2B/SS Pedro Cerrano-Spaz

#40 - Colorado Rockies - CF/LF Dick Nutter LXIX

#41 - Atlanta Braves - 1B/3B Almondo Albuterol

#42 - Milwaukee Brewers - 3B/LF Hubert Farnsworth

#43 - Oakland Athletics - C/3B Ax Finesse

#44 - San Diego Padres - c/3B Mo Jungo

#45 - Baltimore Orioles - CF/RF Chase Hillinger

#46 - Chicago White Sox - 1B/LF Joe Whomper

#47 - Texas Rangers - SS/2B Trevor Rose

#48 - Tampa Bay Rays - RF/1B Truck Month

#49 - Pittsburgh Pirates - C/3B Jason Varitek

#50 - Philadelphia Phillies - P Dillon Cheer

#51 - Detroit Tigers - C/3B Bob Dobby

#52 - Miami Marlins - RF/CF Nate Savage

#53 - Chicago White Sox - P Jacky Wacky

#54 - Minnesota Twins - 1B/3B Henryk Szydlowski

#55 - Cleveland Indians - CF/LF Hyunwon Song

#56 - Boston Red Sox - SS/3B Hero Brine

#57 - Cincinnati Reds - 2B/RF Jeffrey Salmon

#58 - Miami Marlins - P Jin Yang

#59 - San Francisco Giants - 1B/3B Jimmy Haase

#60 - Chicago Cubs - RF/1B Babraham Thincoln

#61 - Baltimore Orioles - 3B/2B Andy Rowell

#62 - Colorado Rockies - P Jerry Ricecake

#63 - Chicago Cubs - CF/RF Cal McTrowell

#64 - Pittsburgh Pirates - P Steven Seagal

#65 - Kansas City Royals - 3B/LF Mantis Toboggan

#66 - Chicago Cubs - 2B/1B Streetlamp LeMoose
